What we do
We are delighted to have re-opened our Mothers and Toddlers group. We are a christian-based Mothers and Toddlers group, providing fun play, and engaging activities for the toddlers, and good company, friendship and support for the mums (and dads and grandmas). Some of the activities are of a christian nature, such as the singing and action songs. We welcome everyone - you do not have to be a Christian to join the Mothers and Toddlers group. We began in September 1998. Since then we have grown and progressed, due mainly to recommendations from mums who already attend the group - that is a good advert itself! We meet term-time only, from 10:00 am to 11:15 am on Monday mornings.
The Service of Nine Lessons and Carols is a traditional service of Bible readings and carols that explains the story of the coming of the long-promised Saviour. This service is known and loved by Christians across the world. This is a joyful service, packed full with words, both read out loud from the Bible, and sung vigorously by the congregation. Individuals, families and children are very welcome to come and participate in these wonderful words. Read more
This is our regular and popular Family Carol Service - full of singing, a quiz, readings, a story, followed by chatting over refreshments. We are expecting lots of children, and we don't mind noise, wriggles, and loud participation. Read more...
This informal Carol Singing event is being hosted by Gloweth Chapel, Truro, with kind permission of Cornwall Housing. Last year's event was well attended, and we anticipate an even larger crowd this year. Carol Sheets provided, or you are welcome to download one. Please bring a chair if you would like to sit down.
Our Christmas Craft Evening is always great fun. There are a variety of craft activities to choose from, and tasty refreshments are provided. Read more
Cornish Carol Singing
Join us at Gloweth Chapel for an evening of traditional Cornish Carol singing. We are planning to sing together many old-time favourites, and warmly invite you to come and participate. This is an informal singing event, not a service, and we will be learning as we go. You do not need to know the carols, and although we provide printed music, you don't need to be able to read it.
Including... While Shepherds Watched (Lyngham), Hark the Glad Sound (Merritt), Angels from the Realms of Glory (Merrit), Lo, the Shepherds (Hellesveor), Star of Jacob (Nicholas), and after we have sung the Cornish selection, choices from our regular carol sheet.
